Paul Torrisi After Dinner Speaker
Expelled from school at 17 years of age, Paul's first job, almost immediately, was working for Ford in Wandsworth until he was 20. He was a highly successful salesman and was responsible for bringing companies such DHL Couriers and TNT into the fold. At 20 Paul joined his father's textile manufacturing company where they made garments for Next, Dorothy Perkins and other major high street retailers. Whilst working for his dad, Paul also burned the midnight oil, building up a residential property portfolio in Lincolnshire and London. In 1998, he left textiles behind and began to concentrate solely on the property business. He subsequently moved into commercial property in 2000 and made a big success of this too. In 2002 he began buying property abroad, amassing a very impressive portfolio. The company was sold in 2005 for £4m - not a bad return in seven years having started with nothing at all!
In 2004 Paul applied to appear on the hit TV series The Apprentice. He finished as a semi-finalist and afterwards was approached by Sir Alan Sugar to work for Amsair in New York, then TV work began to flow. He has fronted his own property show called Property Prophets on UKTV Style, commentated for UKTV for some of the World Cup matches, appeared on BBC1 Breakfast News three times, Bargain Hunt, BBC1 Grandstand as well as numerous appearances on local TV. Paul writes for Start Your Business magazine and Concept for Living and is a regular contributor to Radio Leeds. He has now turned to speaking as the next avenue in his career and appears regularly at conferences and dinners for corporate clients, charities and many other organisations. His motivational speaking focuses on his successful business career and the time, effort and determination needed to build that success. While his after-dinner speaking is centred around his interesting and varied life thus far and his appearances and experiences in 'The Apprentice'. Whatever the event, Paul Torrisi brings a breath of fresh air to each occasion and leaves the audience entertained, impressed and invigorated by his energy and recipe for success.
